Good question! Here are my picks
1. I agree with you on John Elway. I never understood the John Elway-hype. Was renowned for his multiplicity of 4th quarter comebacks, but lets face it, a great quaterback would not let his team be in the hole in the 4th quarter to begin with. If Terrell Davis had not come along and won those two Super Bowls for him he would be placed in the same category as Dan Marino: nice career, no rings.
2. Michael Vick- He is still young enough that he could get me to change this, but he seems to be intent on being more of a running back than a quarterback and this attitude is hurting his team. If he learns to complete more passed and win more games, I will delete him from my list.
3. Jim McMahon: Why is everyone in awe of this guy? I know he was wacky and outrageous and everyone likes wacky and outrageous, but he was nothing more than a journeyman quaterback. Chicago's defense won that Super Bowl in 1985.
Underrated:
1. Dan Marino. Re-wrote the record books, one of the most dynamic quarterbacks of all time, yet everyone wants to talk about the fact that he never won a Super Bowl. What gives? Ted Williams never won a World Series but that never was a knock against him.
2. Jim Kelly. Great quarterback and leader. Led Buffalo to 4 STRAIGHT Super Bowls, a feat that may never be duplicated. Unfortunately he played in an era where the NFC was at its peak dominance.
3. Tom Brady. I think he does not get enough credit for winning 3 Super Bowls and keeping the Pats competitive in this free agent era. He has won despite the lack of a premier running back( Corey Dillon had one good season) and a premier wide receiver.( Deion Branch? David Patten? Reche Caldwell?) Brady should be up there with Montana.

Overrated
1. Ryan Leaf (the fact that he ever played in the NFL makes him the #1 overrated QB in NFL history)
2. Michael Vick
3. Steve Young (by the narrowest of margins over Tommy Maddox)
Underrated
1. Warren Moon
2. Jim Kelly
3. Vince Young (time may prove me wrong on this one, as he could be another Michael Vick... or worse, considering he's inherited the Madden Curse, but I'm thinking he's the one to finally break the Curse)

The most overrated QB in football is Michael Vick. Every year people say this is the year, but he barely completes 50% of his passes and never throws more TDs than Ints. #2 is Tony Romo. Well see this year if he can do it for a full season. #3 if were going NFL history is Terry Bradshaw. Hes the only QB in the HOF to have more INTs than TDs. If it wasnt for that D, he wouldnt be nothing.
The most underrated is probably Drew Brees. Noone thought he would do much in New Orleans due to his size, his injury history, but he tore it up last year. #2 is Phillip Rivers, Brees replaement. He has the weapons to have a great career. #3 is Trent Green. Until he got hurt he was a given for 4000 yards and about 20-25 TDs, with pretty much no recievers.
Sounds like your kinda bias to the Rams. With the recievers and back they got, I could throw for 4200 yards and 30 TDs.

I love how folks go by stats to find a player's worth. Do you have any idea how important Namath is to NFL history, much less as a HOF quarterback? Stop reading stats and read HISTORY. Gee, his QB rating is only 71, waaaaahhh! He had the quickest release and the strongest arm of his time, helped bring about repectability to the AFL which eventually merged into the current NFL, and did it all with probably the worst set of knees any QB ever had to deal with. Overrated? I think the 3 you list as overrated would be on any NFL GM's wish list, especially over a 3 year wonder like Warner. And Bulger? Wow, you must be 13.
