I am building a cafe racer (82 cm450) and was wandering if I remove the battery?

will the bike still start and run with the kick starter?

No, it will not.
goodwrench's link has a mislabled drawing.
That's an alternator, not a generator.

It should,this website shows it has a generator.
Unhook the battery and see if it still has spark.
