If they are genuine, then yes they should have their vote.

But the scroungers who are just refusing to work should be given nothing apart from a bag and a broom and told to clean our beaches rivers and canals. And when that's done, start on our high streets and shopping centres and railway stations and old peoples homes, and then, after they've fully paid the Tax paying public back for their disgusting crimes against us, they should be allowed to vote. After, of course, the day they get a job and stop poncing of us. Mick

Ya, you're right, that disabled veteran that had his leg blown off by an IED and is now receiving disability benefits shouldn't be allowed to have his vote counted! What have you been smoking! It is the responsibility of the American Citizens to evaluate and vote for the candidates and issues they feel are in the best interest of the people and yes people on 'Benefits' are included. I'm sure that all those people who have worked their whole life would really appreciate you taking away their voting rights when they retire...Oh, but lets make sure we have a mechanism to reinstate voting rights to convicted Felons as Florida just passed. It makes a lot more sense to have that convicted rapist vote instead of that disabled veteran.

it depends on their situation. there are some who cannot work because of an illness then they should have the right to vote because that's not their fault. The people who just live off benefits because their too lazy to work most probably don't vote anyway because their too lazy. I hope something is done about them soon because it not fair on hard working people like the rest of us.

Many people who voted labour at the last election are now out of work...so they should have the right to vote this labour government out of jobs too.

Madmary and karla b, what makes you think that all the unemployed have fat butts and sit on them? It´s people like you who make me sick. Lucky to have a job and judgemental on those that don´t.

I will admit there are some that would prefer to do as you have said, but don´t put all in that category. Oh and i would gladly clean the streets or do gardening for the oap´s if the government want to give an honest days pay for it.

My unemployment money goes on living and job searching, which i might say isn´t easy, and as you might know, you need to show that you are trying to place yourself in employment.( or maybe not as you probably haven´t been unfortunate enough to be in that position.)

As for denying the unemployed the right to vote, well in some cases it´s the ones they voted for that put them in that position in the first place, so that´s a big yes to allowing them the right to vote. Find yourself in that position come polling day and i´m sure you´d be p1ssed off if you never received a ballot paper. My God, are we evolving or devolving as a society?!

I'm afraid that ,under the law as it stands, they have the right to vote. I bet, however, that these are the people who the most vociferous supporters of Labour on this website, They are the only section of society who are treated well. Labour does not care about the low paid.

Are you having a competition with some of your BNP mates to see who can be most offensive on this site?

You are suggesting denial of a basic civil right to a large section of the population, yet you object when people call you and your BNP mates Nazis. Unbelievable!

I sometimes wonder if you are actually a UAF member, because your doing a better job of showing up the BNP for the lunatic fringe party it is than its critics.

People who don't work aren't necesarily lazy, they may be the victims of circumstance. Perhaps their employer laid them off when the economy was going through a bad stretch and there is lots of unemployment. Perhaps they are disabled and physically unable to work. Also, people who are self-sufficient don't work in the normal sense of the word.

People who REFUSE to work where employment is available should certainly have their benefits cut to the bare minimum - but they should still be allowed to vote.

What a silly way to test out ridiculous policies, typical of the BNP. Latch onto anything to stir up anger, hatred and to try to create minorities that can be isolated and picked off.

Just like the Nazis did.
Protect Britain???
You need a brain bigger than the average dinosaur to do that!!

Yes of course, why would OAPs, expectant mothers, people injured at work and claiming benefits not vote. That's just dumb.
