Even a "low compression" diesel has higher compression than any gasoline engines. Most diesels run at 20:1 compression, whereas gas engines are considered high compression if we do 9:1 compression.
The truth is... The Otto cycle engine actually is NOT very efficient, when compared to Diesel cycle or even the Atkinson Cycle. So converting diesel engines (by which, I think you man "engine that burns diesel fuel) to Otto engines (engines that use spark ignition) is somewhat backwards. The truth is, most poeple take "diesel engine" to mean engine that runs on diesel cycle (i.e. no ignition). Thus, your mod actually would make pollution WORSE.
A company in the US called Sonex Research claims to be able to run diesel fuel in regular gasoline engines modified with their custom pistons and fuel systems. So far, it's still in experimental stages, and it's being tested by the US military.

Diesel engines have glow plugs. I'm sure that engineers have thought about the possibility of someone trying to fit in a spark plug into a diesel and I bet you won't find a spark plug that would even fit the hole.
Good thought though.

diesel engines don't have spark plugs. On a gas engine, the gas/air mixture is compressed to a ratio of 8 or 10 to one, and the spark plug ignites the mixture causing an explosion, which forces the piston down. On a diesel engine, there is no spark plug or any other plug. The diesel and air mixture is compressed to a 20-24 to one and that pressure causes the mixture to spontaneously explode, causing the piston to be forced down. There isn't any port or area to screw in a spark plug.

in a diesel engine, there is no way a spark plug can even be put in the injector's place. there is an injector pump and lines, and no wiring, and spark.only the glow plugs will help ignite the diesel when first starting. it's not designed for spark plugs.

The King James is the the first translation that joe public could read, before the King James Bible people like William Tun dale was burnt at the stake by the Clergy for saying and try to do this "make the the Bible available so that a plow boy working in the field could have one, the clergy kept the Bible chained in the church, only the clergy & ones educated could read the Bible. Tun dale was the first one to have notes in the margins like where it says in the the Bible, thou should not commit adultery, Tun dale would write(except for the Pope, he can do whatever he wants,he thinks he God!), this is why he was burned at the stake. For along time the King James Bible was the only Bible that could be had, it was sold at a price that only certain class of people could afford, thankfully there were ones like Tun dale that made sure even the very poor could have the Bible, the King James Bible became a treasure for all christian people. As new translation were published, more and more christian started getting other translations, the more the translations, the more new religions. The catholic Douay has change the most regarding Gods name, I will never forget when I was in my teens & with my Dad out in service when Dad ask for the catholic Bible to show Gods name(It was in the earlier catholic editions), & it was NOT THERE, my Day almost lost it, he recovered quickly, took out the King James & showed Jehovah's name & started a study! Just as they did with Tun dale, (he was removed), so did they remove Gods name from their Bible. There is not difference from the King James, except the Catholic Douay, then all other Bible's, some of them too have taken Gods name out, The New World Translation has put Gods name back in the Bible where all of the original transcripts, like the dead sea scrolls, had the true Gods name in them. The King James Bible has Gods name, Jehovah, in it in for places, It has praise Jah in many places, & it has Hallilujah(means to prase Jehovah) in a considerable amount of places. When anyone says "Halilujah" they are saying, praise be to Jehovah & they don't even know they are giving praise to the true God. That shows you the power of the true God, he gets praise from non-believers, it also shows the humor of this Great & Powerful True God Jehovah.
