yes - if they sting in his mouth or throat, it could get swollen and cut off his air supply, effectively suffocating him to death.
even if he doesnt seem to have any reactions from their bite now, an allergy can develop over time.

Get rid of the wasps or keep him away from them.

Yes of course. Like humans, dogs can react badly to just a sting, let alone eating them!

My cat ate a wasp once and her throat swelled up like a balloon but she was fine. We didn't take her to the vet (I was a kid at the time so just trusted what my parents said!) but nowadays I wouldn't hesitate, the throat swelling could've asphyxiated her!

If your dog continues exactly as normal then perhaps there is nothing to worry about - but ANY signs of reaction - swelling, lethargy, seeming to have a fever, vomiting, red patches, I would take to a vet immediately. Anaphylactic shock can be quickly fatal, and just because it didn't happen the first few times doesn't mean it never will, so keep an eye and try to discourage this little habit!
