I have yet to find a site that lets me search property auctions for free. So, I say unless you want to pay the fee then just forget about using the internet. By law, anytime property goes up for auction the banks have to advertise those properties in the newspaper, so check your local newspaper first, then go to the court house and you can ask to look at all properties that are up for auction. All the information you need will be at the court house.

In the UK there are over 460 auctioneers and unlike estate agents, they don't just sell property on their doorstep. Also properties that are repossessed for example are usually placed with a big auctioneer who may be at the other end of the country!!
Services like the ones you have found are useful in the sense that you can search by area and pick up properties from a whole heap of auctioneers, not just one or two.
If you choose to use of of these services just make sure that they have a phone number and address so you know they are 'real'. But for less than £100 quid a year for the site I use, you can save yourself a heap load of time searching.
Hope that helps! Good luck with your search

most stuff online is going to cost you. is there a particular kind of property auction that you are looking for? like cars? i believe that each city's police department has auctions for stuff that has been recovered but not claimed, like bicycles, cars, etc. you should call each police dept for more info. also, if you are looking for unclaimed property, go to individual storage places and ask when they hold auctions. these places hold auctions every now and then for stuff that's stored but the owners stop paying.
unfortunately, the only free information is the kind that you are willing to do legwork for.
