Let me first state... I am in no way, shape or form any bit racist.

We have inherited two (used) and complete KKK uniforms. We were told that they could possibly bring good money. What wouold be the first step to seeing how much they would bring, and finding out the best way to sell them. We were thinking maybe a museum or on eBay?? I need some good advice!!

We see these as historical artifacts.

Thank you for your help!

There is a full woman's uniform and a full men's uniform. There is a possibility that there will be receipts of dues paid when these uniforms were in use. Not positive though, but a good possibility we do have them to go along with the uniforms.

Donate them to the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC. They are an unfortunate reminder of our countries past, but should be preserved as a reminder of how far we have come and where we should never go again.

If you are primarily interested in getting money for them (I'm not judging you for that, I'd be hard-pressed to say no to that idea if it were me), ebay would be a good choice. I would check with them first to make sure it doesn't violate any of their guidelines; I wouldn't think so, but those kind of items might be kind of inflammatory.
If you have a more humanitarian interest, you might contact the NAACP or similar organization, they might find interest as a part of an historical exhibit. I think the Smithsonian would probably just end up warehousing them. So your choice is, make money and do yourself some good with them, or give them away and do society some good. But no money for you in that case, you have to decide how much the warm, fuzzy feeling you'd get is worth.

I would try a historic society or museum which may or may not wish to pay for them -- or try a historic auction of some sort that may bring a good some. I'd be careful selling to a private party because they may use it for other pruposes.

Check on ebay for similarly sold items. Price accordingly. Donate the proceeds to an appropriate charity.

Historical artifacts that are "good" collectibles would include things associated with "good" parts of history. Though I will not doubt that these will bring you "good" money I think you might want to find some other collectible interests. Hitler's mustache would bring "good" money on eBay but I don't see anyone rushing to get it.

I vote for donatingthem to the Smithsonian... I don't know who would pay a lot of money for those things... you could try ebay if you wanna turn a profit, but who knows who might buy them? Who knows how they might use them?

I would go underground and find other activists. Not that I would agree with them. Or maybe you could try a museum. You could make it a learning experience.
