Is it because they believe that they will become part of the few and strong? Is it because they believe that other systems can not be functional? Or what else?

This is the worst system.

Except for all the others.

It's because when viewed in the absolute rather than the relative, capitalism is NOT a system that is "for the few" but rather is a system for the many, and enables more of us to become stronger.

It's because we realize that while the difference between the top cat and any of us will be larger in a capitalist model than in a socialist model, that is only because in a socialist model there simply isn't as much to go around, and that almost all of us will be better off in a capitalist model than we would be in a socialist model - -

I'd rather have a decent house in a model in which some others have mansions than have a tiny shack in a model in which everyone else also has a tiny shack.

Pure Capitalism actually doesn't benefit the few or the strong. If it did, big business would spend its money on the Libertarian Party instead of the Republican Party. Capitalism, in its pure form, achieves wonders for all.

The wealthy prefer Mercantilism. They'd rather have handouts from business than run the risk of going bankrupt on a true free market.

For some reason, the poor support Socialism, though it is to the detriment of everybody except the government and unions.

The best way to eliminate poverty is to stop giving handouts to individuals and cut taxes instead. The best way to achieve a great economy is to stop giving handouts to corporations and cut taxes instead.

A misunderstanding of the economy is behind anti-Capitalism. Under true Capitalism, unprofitable firms are not bailed out by government, but rather allowed to go broke (permitting the money to be redistributed somewhere else that people want more from). Capitalism is the greatest benefit the poor have ever seen. Confusion of Capitalism with Mercantilism is behind all the anti-Capitalism, primarily from the left.

Uh, oh! Someone has been listening to socialist propaganda again. The few and the strong? Capitalist systems have the largest middle classes of any system ever invented. In America even the poor have cable TV and air conditioning. Show me any socialist system that can make such a boast.

Why reward excellence?? Are you kidding?

We don't have enough gold medals for everyone, but if we did, wouldn't that make them pointless? Since we don't, how do we decide who gets one? Simple: No one gets one.

Competition brings innovation. Without property rights and a sense of fairness, we'd all still be warming our butts by a flaming pile of dung.

I don`t think most people know that capitalism is a economic system and not a government system.
