You're not the only one -- it happens at least 2 -1,000 times by their own standards (it's usually more than that) I found out by becomming pregnant myself that oral contraceptives, even taken correctly, have an error rate. This was over 13 years ago, though. I suppose they don't like to have that error information get out so they blame the women for doing something "wrong."

I was 38 years old and my children were 17, 15, and 12 when we found out I was pregnant. Our little surprise baby was conceived when I had been on Ortho Tri Cyclen for 11 years. I had not missed any pills nor been ill with throwing up or taken any medication that would have interfered with the pills. It turned out to be a good lesson for my older kids to understand that nothing but abstinence is 100% effective! I believe having a baby sister made them pretty cautious.

I got pregnant on Mircette. As I understand, I can probably thank the diet pills I was taking. Antibiotics, amphetimines (found even in over the counter diet medications) and some allergy medications can make any birthcontrol pill not work.
Low dose birth contol pills, such as Ortho Tri Cyclin Low or Mircette are especially susceptible to this. The FDA is actually considering changing birthcontrol regulations because of the reduced effectiveness of low dose birthcontrol. Basically they are considering taking low dose methods off the market. Doctors and birth control companies are fighting this because they say that some women are unable, due to health reasons, to take a high dose birth control pill and that they should be able to opt for a reduced effectiveness, lower dose option rather than no birth control pill at all. However, most women do not know that low dose birthcontrol is likely less effective than its higher dose counterparts (the pills our mothers were taking back in the 70s), and it certainly is not stated in its advertising.

Yikes! I am on the same pill. I know there is that small chance of you getting pregnant since the pill isn't 100%. Just look at it as your little miracle. You must be meant to have this baby. Congratulations! You will have your hands full, but it will be well worth it.

It did with my first. However, they lowered my prescription level because I was previously taking antibiotics. I didn't use back-up because they didn't tell me they changed it. I have also had ovarian cysts while on the pill. My Dr. thinks that I'm just one of those people who tries to release the egg anyway. Good luck!

I got pregnant twice while on the pill, can't remember what the names of the pills were, but after the first time they pit me on a stronger pill and it happened again.
My children are both very healthy. (That was a big concern of mine)

Not on that specific brand but yes it does happen. Birth control is not 100% guaranteed in any form you take it.
