b/(ab) + a/(ab) =
(b+a)/(ab)

Multiply each fraction by 1.

But dont write one, in the traditional way..

For 1/a..Multiply it by 1 written as b/b

For 1/b Multiply it by 1 written as a/a

1b/ab + 1a/ab

Eliminte the one coefficent in the numberator..they are unnecessary

b/ab + a/ab= b+a/ab
