I don't understand how:

a / (a + a^2) = 1 / (a + 1)

What are the steps to reach the latter part of the equation?

a/(a+a^2)
a/a(a+1)
a/a=1/ (a+1)

a / (a + aÂ²) = a / [a.(1 + a)] = 1 / (1 + a) = 1 / (a + 1)
