Have her speak with her dr. There are things they can prescribe for really bad morning sickness. And by all means keep her hydrated. Best of luck.

Unfortunately morning sickness is a symptom of pregnancy. Why, no one knows. Your doctor or clinic will be keeping an eye on your wife and if she has any serious physical problems, they will pick it up. She must mention her sickness to them.
Morning sickness varies in degrees. My one pregnancy I felt a bit sick but for the other three, I vomited all day every day for nine months.
Your wife will feel more ill if her stomach is empty. If she is actively throwing up, then try waiting for the cramps to pass - it takes about twenty minutes - and then try eating something. If she genuinely is unable to keep anything down and this is reflected in her weight loss, then her doctor will hospitalise her. Good luck.

That's perfectly normal. Have her keep taking the vitamins (because those are very important throughout pregnancy) and see if she can eat something later in the morning. Its really hard to want to eat when you are feeling sick, but trying to get into a regular routine of eating every 2 hours works really well to combat morning (or all day) sickness. Also, make sure she has crackers by her bedside, so that she can eat them first thing in the morning, before she gets up out of bed.

Hey! First of all congrads. I take my Prenatal Vits. at night less chance of morning sickness! Normally you have morning sickness from 8-16 weeks of pregnancy some have it all the way and others not at all. Also cantalope doesn't taste as bad going down or up!!! This is normal for pregnancy. Hope this helps if you still have questions ask your DR!!!

I was sick for the first 5 1/2 months of my pregnancy... I found one food that never wanted to "come back up" and I stuck with it... I had to take 2 children's chewable vitamins each day because I couldn't stomach ANY type of pills, even the prenatal... I lost a lot of weight and my doctor told me that I was loosing to much and he was going to put me in the hospital... (it only happened once and they rehydrated me and sent me home) My daughter was born at 9lbs. 5oz. and healthy as can be right on time... Don't worry to much about it but make sure she drinks as much water as she can and help her find a food that she can tolerate when she is able to eat and keep it handy and know which grocery store is open at 3am when you run out. Just remember that in time this will pass. Get the book what to expect when you are expecting my hunny loved knowing exactly what was going on, it helped him connect.
P.S. for me it happened to be strawberries...

It should subside around 9-12 weeks .. it doesn't last the entire pregnancy.
It's very common. Don't worry about the baby not getting food (or pre-natals) from all the vomiting the first tri-mester (1-12 weeks pregnant) because the baby is not living off of her food supply yet.
Her morning sickness will subside soon (close to 12 weeks) and then she'll be able to keep food down.
Don't worry .. they'll both be very heatlhy! :)
good luck! God bless!

The sickness will probably stop by the time she is 12 weeks pregnant, but in the mean time she should go see her doctor!
If the doctor can't help much, many very small meals are better than normal sized ones, ginger biscuits or ginger tea might help.
Have a word with an acupuncturist, they might help.

this is a condition that she will be rid of after the birh of the baby. Research a condition called severe hyperemisis ( i may have spelled it wrong). It is severe morning sickness that lasts all day, everyday and prohibits eating. Ususally it includes excessive vomiting, pain and restlessness. It can be controlled, however, you may need to be on bed rest for the duration of the pregnancy.

Morning sickness usually starts subsiding around about 12 weeks, however it can sometimes last longer. make sure your wife if drinking plenty of fluids. Certain foods can help sickness (dry toast, ginger etc), however if the sickness is very persistent speak with your midwife who can advise on what best to do ... best of luck and congratulations !

Definitely a phase of pregnancy. Have her try taking the supplements later in the day after she has eaten something that actually stayed down.
