14 years and like wine, it gets better with age. It takes work but I wouldn't change a thing! I love the young man I married and the man he's become. All my dreams have come true with him by my side. He's there when times are rough and there when times are joyful. But the best thing is seeing him walk through the front door from work and my life is suddenly calmer. Thanks for the question! =)

The concept of "completely happy" is sort of an impossible standard. If you are "completely happy" it makes me think that you are in denial about something. That having been said, I have been married for almost 14 years, and our relationship has never been better. We have learned what is great (and we appreciate those things) and we have learned which of the negative things isn't going to change (so we don't sweat those things nearly as much).
Also, understand that virtually all marriages, even very happy ones, have highs and lows. Good years and bad years.
But yes, happiness is possible, but it requires two people equally up to the task of making it work. Also, a lot of bad marriages are between people who wouldn't be happy with anyone. So many times on here, I see questions where my honest response is, "you're both selfish idiots, I don't have a solution for that."
Great to hear that you're one of the bright spots out there. Keep up whatever you're doing!

I've only been married about 18 months, but we are still like newlyweds. Don't get me wrong - we do have our moments and our disagreements, but I would NEVER cheat on this man. He is everything I ever wanted in a man and I won't give that up for anything in this world and I KNOW he feels the same way about me! Don't let the unhappy people bring you down. They are hear to vent and hopefully find solutions, so they do deserve some credit!

Great question Boo. I am without a doubt TOTALLY in love with my wife, we've been married almost 11 years, and we miss each other when we are apart. She satisfies me, and I have no need or want for ANYONE else.
I love it when people post questions like this. It's sure a change from all the negativity that we see.
I've found that with my wife and I working at our marriage and working at overcoming and resolving issues in our marriage it has brought us closer and made our love even deeper.
I feel more in love with my wife than I was when we got married. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with her.
Good for you and your husband.
God Bless

Hooray for you! Yes, it is wonderful to be married, and my husband and I have been married almost 18 years - of course there have been ups and a lot of serious downs, actually, but it is because of our love and our strong relationship that we have been able to weather the storms, and come out on the other side with even a stronger relationship! And after three years, and five, and ten ... up to now, and I'm sure beyond this, it does get better and more wonderful as you get to know each other better and better! Yipee for love!

Well, my boyfriend and I have been together almost a year and a half. We haven't had any really important fights and we have been friends since we were in Kindergarten. We get along really well and only have problems when we are drinking, he gets mouthy and I get emotional. I really would like to get married some day, but we will see. We have already talked about having kids, we already have two with our ex's.

Almost 9 years married, 2 kids, plus his daughter from previous marriage, and loving every minute of it. I am always happy to see him, always happy to talk to him, always looking forward to our time together. He's a great dad, good friend, lots of fun, thoughtful, caring human being who I am insanely lucky to be able to share my life with. Can't wait to see what the next 50 years bring us together. This is going to be fun!
