It occurred Monday, April 16, 2007.
The shooter was identified as Cho Seung Hui. A 23 yr. old student.
You can go to ANY news website and read about the shooting; the shooter, and most importantly, the 31 victims.

That's pretty hardcore to miss the whole week like that. Kinda close to someone asking what happened in New York a week after 9/11.
Happened last Monday. And the guy's name: Seung-Hui Cho.
