What is the take home message of this comment supposed to be? I've gotten it a lot in the past from male friends, coworkers, just flirting. it's usually something like "will you be the mother of my children?" "i want you to be my babymama" "I want to make babies with you" etc.
It just recently happened again, except this time with a guy I have an on again off again, purely casual fling with - he just came out and said "I love you. I want to make babies with you".
He clearly doesn't "love" me, at least not in any traditional, your my girlfriend, we have a real relationship way.
So this is promtping me to ask - what is intended by this type of comment? What type of compliment is this? What does it mean? How am i supposed to feel when a guy says something like this?

i should say - the guys saying this stuff, aren't ghetto - they are professional guys, some already fathers, and aside from the guy i actually have been with, none of them ever tried to actually get me in bed. Just play-fought with each other over who get's to be the father of my children.

well, i think that you should feel insulted....it means they want to have sex with you...pure and simple....instead of wooing you and courting you, and actually letting real feelings develop....they are attempting to make you feel that you are the only one for them, that they are in love with you...by telling you they want you to be their baby's mama, they are trying to make you believe they want something everlasting with you, a commitment...
...when in reality, they only want the *act* that makes the baby...and i seriously doubt they would stick around if you actually did get pregnant....guys who throw around serious feelings and emotions like they are candy are a dime a dozen...run from these type guys...fast!

Well you must be really hot, and all these guys are of course wanting to go through the motions of having babies. I would take it as a compliment, they obviously think you would make beautiful children. My question would be that even though they want to make babies with you, would they want to stick around to take care of and help pay for them too?

That is a ghetto line for lets have sex and nothing more. The meaning behind it is the guy thinks whoever he uses it on is a tramp, and willing to raise a baby on their own just for the pleasure of having sex with him.
Any guy who would use it on you, is seriously immature.

Sounds like these kind of guys are trying to appeal to our maternal side to get into our bed, right? How do you think they would react if next time you say I would want to have your baby if you had a better job to pay child support...lol.

That's weird, no guys I know would say that. Ask them what the heck they are talking about and what movie they got it from. Unless these guys are biologists and you have some excellent genetics ... got me? /shrug
