What is online Observatory? Do we have control over what the Telescopes does in realtime.

There are some observatories that allow you real time control of the telescope. Usually you have to subscribe to the service and pay a fee, but yes, they give you full control to point the telescope where you like and take whatever picture you like in real time. The source is one such observatory.

Numerous graduate astronomy students will schedule time with observatories like Mt. Wilson, Mt. Palomar, and even the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) so they do not have to travel to the observatory.
It is all done on line and your observing schedule is sent months in advance so that the observing time and location can be preset.
Some observatories will allow on line use of their facilities and the scope is controlled by the coordinates that are input.
