Let's remember who we really are and come together on computer screens all over America and sing. . .

And I'm proud to be an American , where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died and gave that right to me
And I'd gladly STAND-UP. . .. next to you and defend her still today
Cause there ain't no doubt , I love this land
GOD BLESS THE U.S.A. !!

Sure we have our faults. . . but we still got the best thing goin !!

Would you STAND-UP. . .. next to me and show your pride today?

I applaud patriotism and national pride. End of sentence.

I would, however, like to address your second to last comment...we still got the best thing goin... Why does America see this as a contest or competition? Why does America have to have the best thing going? Will something be lost if you discover that life elsewhere might be a little bit better? Will America be worse off if they knew that there was a country that enjoyed a better lifestyle?

There are plenty of places in the world where people enjoy their lives immensely...for all kinds of reasons. And they feel no sense of competition or need to be the 'best'. And I think there would be a greater sense of peace and happiness in the States if you simply got rid of the competitive spirit in that sense...truly.

Have a great and patriotic day! Sing on, my friend, sing on!

Ya know what ? There was a time when I wasn't all that Patriotic, but I started changing during the Reagan Presidency, and after 911 I found myself turning even more Patriotic.

Funny how we often fail to appreciate what God has Blessed us with until it is imperiled.
Be Blessed in Christ Jesus !

Hi, I love this country too. I love it for whats best in it. It has always been the beacon of hope and freedom and decency and mercy for the world. I took a circle tour on a boat around Manhattan Island once, there was a view of the Statue Of Liberty holding high her beacon welcoming "the storm tossed refuse"--the castaways, the poor, the broken, from all over the world. And there, across the strait, was the tip of Manhattan Island crowded with the towers, the magnificent towers of success those storm tossed refuse, those castaways, those lost and abandoned hopeless souls built--the greatest city on earth. Yes, I love America. God Bless My Country. Oh and I am a liberal Democrat by the way.

Yes, I am grateful for the freedoms I have and will fight to keep them.

"No government can be maintained without the principle of fear as well as duty. Good men will obey the last, but bad ones the former only. If our government ever fails, it will be from this weakness." --Thomas Jefferson

Is fear the driving force behind our current administration? I see our freedoms eroding right before my eyes.

I AM!

I try to remember it every day, and in my own way thank all my ancestors and everyone who gave us this wonderful country.

And I try to make sure it's in at least as good a shape for future generations.

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND THE TROOPS THAT DIED AND FOUGHT FOR THIS LAND I LOVE.
WITHOUT THEM , WE WOULD BE just another Euroclone, or a dictatorship.
