Pro: English is the language of business
Already wide exposure to english so learning it would be easier
It would promote outsourcing of US jobs to India, thus aiding their economy


Cons: -Diversity would suffer
-English is a complicated language and some sources (cant remember them now) say its harder to learn than many languages like Spanish
-Outsourcing could hurt individual employment within the US

Just becos India is a multilingual nation, a language is wanted with which u can journey for the duration of the nation and have an understanding of others. This is what English does in India!.
