4.7 will get you noticed. at your height and weight if you go to college you will want to switch to SS and then hopefully gain speed up to about a 4.5. Work on explosiveness off the line rather than overall 40 speed. a faster time in the first 10-20 yards will translate into more success. Lots of squats, calf raisers, run with a chute or a sled. Dead lifts. Anything to increase the explosiveness of the muscles.

At 5'11" 205 pounds you should be running a low to mid 4 in the 40. Most d line man can run 4-6-4-8 40 times now adays

For highschool a good 40 time is between 4.6 to 4.8 to get noticed. If you are only 205 then you should be running a 4.6 and if you want to continue to play middle linebacker in the next level you are going to have to get your weight up to at least 230.

5'11" and 205 is a small MLB. At that size you probably should be in the 4.5 range for the 40. More important than your 40 time would be your quickness. At your small size you better be quick to avoid blockers cause you won't be big enough to power through them.

At your height and weight, it would be my suggestion to get your time down around 4.6 or 4.5. If youre only a freshman then I think youre fine around 4.7. But if you really want to get noticed shave it down to 4.5 and switch over to tailback. Youre about the perfect height and weight to play tailback in college, but if you want to be a linebacker you need to grow about 5- 6 inches, and gain about 25-40 pounds. But whatever you do dont switch to SS i know way to many people who moved from MLB to SS and they lost scholarships because of it.

you should be able to run it in a 4.9 or a 5.0 Since you are pretty big aim for that. You'll be lucky to run it in less.
