Under what criteria are they granted?

I think it is granted with in a few days of the wedding taking place, and both parties deciding that it is not going to work out.

I know that if a marriage is not consumated, that it can be annulled.

That's about my knowledge on anullment.

Courts tend to look at the intent of the parties when granting annulments.

If a party intends not to live with or consumate the marriage but makes the other party believe they will, court's will grant an annulment within a reasonable time period.

That's about it.

That is what I know. In general it is easier to get a divorce than an annulment, but if you fit the criteria then get an annulment instead.
