it depends on your personallity. If your the kind that doesn't mind some rough-housing a little and playing around then you should get a dog. If your a calm quiet person that likes peace but doesn't want complete loneliness, then get a cat. I like cats because they are easier to take care of. They also make you earn thier affection. They don't sell-out like dogs.

Depends on your ability to devote time and energy to your pet. A kitten is very playful and frisky, and very easily litter trained, mine are actually trained to go outside to use the bathroom. Once a kitten is grown they are very easy, if you keep it inside it will use a litter box, just make sure you keep it cleaned out or it will find a cleaner spot to crap. Cats just need love, food, and a place to use the bathroom. However, dogs are much harder to train, I personally can not stand to go into a home where a dog is disposing its waste on newspapers or worse, the floor. A dog must be trained to use the bathroom outside. A dog also must have lots of exercise so if u do not have a fenced in yard it will be up to u to make sure it gets walked several times a day. In conclusion I must say, dogs are a lot more work, but they are also much more devoted to their owners. I would definately suggest a cat to somebody with little time and energy. Cats are great first pets.

Neither is better... it is a matter of personal opinion and appreciation.
I prefer dogs b/c I want a pet that I can interact with frequently, can take on walks, etc. Dogs typically offer more socialization opportunities than cats. I am very shy and have found that walking down the street or being at the dog park with my Golden Retriever puppy is practically an invitation for people to talk with you.
I personally find cats stand-offish. However I think they are probably less messy than dogs.

Dogs are way, way better.....Cats dont really need you to survive they can do it on their own. I love dogs they are very loyal and a mans best friend. You cannot get much out of a cat!!! They look on a dogs face when you are home is Priceless and the love they give you is awesome.

Both cats and dogs are great pets*
Cats seem to be easier to manage as they do their own thing...you change their litter box and feed them, give them attention/love and they're happy*
Dogs....you take on walks...is like a buddy* /best friend....
Whatever you prefer*

Well,cats are cleaner than dogs,but dogs are the friend of the human.So, if u stayed with your dog for a long time caring and giving it love, for sure it will not forget you.

DOGS RULE!! They love you unconditionally and are ALWAYS happy to see you!! Cats have too much people traits. If I'm going to have something in the house that has that much personality, it's going to pay half the rent. DOGS RULE!!! Thanks for asking!!!
