I think you could find a reflection of the Holy Grail in the Lord of the Rings ... if you change the ring to the Holy Grail, an item of gold, of immense value that evil forces, and good forces seek, that contains great power and meaning and gives strength and courage but can also lead to evil ... remembering that Hitler opening sought items dealing directly with Jesus' life and powerful relics.

Sure, I'll buy the metaphor. But, the Holy Grail itself, is not directly addressed.
