I don't really care if people on this forum don't agree with me. I'm entitled to my opinion as much as they are. I'll usually answer to the best of my ability, and that's enough for me.

I've learned that many people will not agree with me because I don't agree with many others. We all have our own opinion s and that fine. But I do think we should respect each others' opinions and take some time to listen to each other. There has been times when I think I know the right thing but after opening my ears, I realize that I had been wrong for years.

There are some sacred lines in our society that are coming out as people evolve into more and more speaking of their minds. Namely religion and religious discrimination of those who do not "attend" or agree with all the tennants of the major religious groups and who are not hypocrits to that religion, who hold back some to thine own self be true kind of thing till it oppresses them and their kind into between a rock and a hard place.

Generally social organizations, especially Fundamental Traditionalist Christian ones, have a self righteous body of believers that stick up for each other and are taught not to get into philosophical discussion unless the preacher says so. So they avoid questions about their faith and continue to maybe sometimes unintentionally use that platform to get themselves and their fellow parishoners what they would call "favor from God" ie promotions and status. This is done because our society is brainwashed and polarized and in fear of a lack of order in life. They fear that if Jesus is not it, then what reason is there to be a civilized human being? They fear that order would soon go to complete mayhem if we are not living for a special treat in afterlife because we swear that Jesus is it.

But the polarization comes from such beliefs that are not backed up with anything more than, "It's a mystery" or "Can't talk now". The peoples and their heritages who have built themselves up so much on these Jesus beliefs often don't realize just how powerful they are, how influential they are and how hard it is for those that they oppress, from the fears that they cannot let go of of allowing themselves to think or to question their upbringings just a little.

So when it comes to being educated, we have the class of the brainwashed traditionalist who is not allowed in their minds to discuss the matters that got them the power privilidge and prestige of their moments in detail....and we have those who are oppressed for seeking truth in life who have none of this power privilidge and prestige and who are fighting for survival in their thoughts every moment, and the lack of communication betweenst the two sometimes builds to such a polarized difference that even affects quality of life for a lifetime.

And seeing that there comes a breaking point where the oppressed person for one oppressing point or another simply says "I cannot take living like this any more!". In the case of the VT shooter, "I need to show these crucifixion worshippers something to worship about!". Society is full of one upmanship. Once a person can convince themselves that they don't agree, and once they can convince themselves that their enemy approves of hatred and martyrdom, then the logical conclusion is that their enemy would approve of both their martyrdom and the oppressed person's martyrdom and then the two shall be as one and therein is the definition of love.

Twisted? Maybe. But it is no more twisted than saying that somehow a human soul can be "separated from God"(definition of eternal damnation), when God has been defined as being everywhere! Go figure. Humans have time now to think and as this questionning continues somebody is going to have to comfort those who dare question tradition.

If he hasn't noticed there are a lot of different things going on in the world, maybe you should make him read the news, read current affairs, take his blinders off, and clean out his ears!

Some people lie to get others on their side (GWB), others get the life sucked out of them and give up/act defeated too soon.

I can deal with people not agreeing with my fact based view of the universe. I can't deal with people pushing their 'faith' based world view onto everyone else. It does not serve us collectively for a majority of us to live our lives based on superstition and unprovable assertions that must be believed on 'faith' alone.

I love it when I find other perspectives to learn from when they come with the right attitude and a willingness to give and receive thoughts.
