Ok. So I just bought a new Windows Vista-based notebook PC. It has two seperate hard drives (160GB each) and a dual processor. Here are my questions:

1) Would it be possible to install Windows Vista on the primary hard drive, and then install a release version of MacOS X on the other hard drive?

2) If this is possible, how would I go about doing it. I have seen a few tutorials on dual-booting, but I don't exactly know what all they are talking about. I figure if I have two seperate hard drives, each with their own OS, I should simply be able to select which one to boot from each time that I start-up my computer.

Is this logical? If so, I just need someone to tell me how to go about doing it. But I don't know what version of MacOS X to get, and I don't know exactly how to go about doing this. If you could help I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

There are a number of 'Portable Operating Systems' that you can install on an external hard drive. They are usually condensed versions of the normal OS, eg Portable XP. You can also try BeOS, it's quite powerful and customizable.

Vista does not use the old boot.ini files instaed uses bcd, anyway, this can be long.

if you want to keep your viata as primary boot and use other OS as optional and you want a menu after you start your pc use this tool:
