is there any use for the waste gas of nitrogen from the blast furnace?

Nitrogen is the major constituent of air (78%). It is used to make fertilizers, nitric acid, explosives, polymers etc.

I think that it is used for non-ferrous smelting processes, particularly in the production of lead and in the making of Fertilizers and all nitric components.
