Well, the ranking really shows that Indiana u is better than the other one, but my concern is if Indiana is better than Illinois, how come the SAT average there is lower? I'm just a bit confused with the SATs... what do they have to do with overall university quality?

Thanks :)

Indiana definitely has the higher ranked business school--and its star is on the rise.

As for the SAT thing, it shouldn't dissuade you from attending a college. It's one aspect of admissions, and you don't know how each school weighs SAT scores. Some schools think that the score is not as great a predictor of success as other schools. And in the midwest, more students may take the ACT than the ACT, which can skew the SAT scores. (Fewer scores = less meaningful average). And the average SAT score is likely for an entire university--the B-school scores will likely be higher.

Besides, the average SAT score between the two is only 90 points. . . not tiny, but not gargantuan. And they have nearly identical ACT scores. This should not be a factor in your choice between the schools.

Both universities are ranked in the top 100 universities in the country. But don't get too hung up on rankings. They are both good schools; go to the one that is right for you (fit, price, etc.).

Both are excellent public universities and you would get a good education at either school. However, Indiana is a much better business school than Illinois.
