Hi,
Some programs have this nasty habit of popping up when you are playing games. I don't think you have a virus. Its easy to check. Do this:
1. Locate the AOL icon on your systems tray (look at the icons next to the time, lower right hand corner of your computer screen).
2. Right click on the screen and uncheck the "Always on top" option if you see it. Start playing. If your problem is solved, you are good. If NOT step 3 will take care of it :-)
3. Right click on the AOL icon and say "exit". This should definitely stop the pop-ups from bothering you while you are playing.
Let me know if this helped.

Well, you could. Virus can cause all sort of problems. If you don't know what is infecting your computer you should run a complete scan to find out what kind of malware you have.
To be sure, I would run a quick Nano Scan or a Total Scan from Panda. They let you try these new products for free at http://www.infectedornot.com so they can use that information to present statistics about the level of malware infection on the web.
The site is safe, since Panda is behind it. They have the latest virus definitions, so you will definitely find out if what you have is a virus.

I would bet you have a virus. Stuff don't just pop up Something cause'es it like virus'es. Aol wont just pop up cause they want you on line all the time. Chances are , your infected. Run the Spybot S & D and see if that helps.

I would delete anything AOL on your computer. Is AOL your internet service provider? I would leave just any software for your modem and necessary files to run the internet on your computer and trash the rest. You don't need it. Stop using Netscape or IE as your internet browser. Use Firefox and you won't have any problems.

Hi Pamm,
Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > AOL Toolbar (remove).
Edit: If it is "Spyware," which I don't believe it is, go to www.microsoft.com and search "anti spyware" and download Windows Defender. It's free and it comes directly from Microsoft so its not cheap and half-*** like some CNET programs are.

That sounds like a "spyware" program on your PC trying to call the Internet to download "pop up ads" and upload your personal information. Go to http://download.com and get Spybot Seek&Destroy and run it on your computer. It should clean off the spyware. (It is free).
