since most people feel that if/when he "breaks" Aaron's record is thru cheating....is there any certain number of home runs that he can hit to restore his honor? like what if he hits 850? or is integrity a one time thing? once you lose it, you don't get it back?

cuz i don't care if he hits 1,000, he still doesn't have the class that Aaron did. not to start a whole new question, but take Pete Rose. i'm not saying one way or another, but he has a lot of records, and i don't see HIM in the HOF...yet.

my question is to get people to think...and debate. sounds like it's working. pretty good points. don't assume that i'm one way or another. i'm just playing the role sometimes.

I think the message that voters sent to Big Mac in the last election will carry over to Bonds, too. I know he's never failed a drug test, but I also believe that only the willfully ignorant believe he never used steroids (he got acne, his feet grew 3 sizes in the past 10 years, and the whole point of "the cream" and "the clear" is that they don't come up in tests).

Bonds is unlikely to get in, unless the voters collectively get over the steroids issue, and I just don't see that happening.

There is no way for somebody to hit their way into the HOF, the selection process is subjective.

Oh, and by the way, Pete Rose isn't in the HOF because he was banned from baseball, not because he wasn't voted in. Conventional wisdom holds that he would have been voted in if not for the ban.

He will get in 1st ballot. Look at his numbers. He would make it even without the steroids and home runs. He was always great hitter even when he wasnt hitting home runs.

He will never get the honor back though. The guy is hated by teammates and fans. Its obvious that he is on some type of steroid even if he isnt testing positive. People get bigger as they get older but its not 50 lbs of muscle bigger.

Bonds is in first ballot if he retired tomorrow. Mcgwire isnt in because he was a great hr hitter but only an average player. Once you factor in roids and realize that the only thing he was great at might have been because of roids...............For the guy that said bonds teamates hate him??? I challenge you to find one.........all bonds teamates love him. Aurillia, Dunston, Harriston and several others have openly admitted it. I have never heard anyone that played with bonds talk bad about him. The only teamate that comes to mind you could possibly be thinking about is kent, and he has never said anything bad.........(why should he look at the millions and millions bonds made him by him batting in front of or behind bonds.) Jeff Kent won a mvp award........lol You think he can do that batting in front of or behind anyone but bonds????? not!!!!! So techniquelly bonds won that one two......lol His numbers were better than kents anyways you know....... 8 time mvp not in the halll???????? His speech is written and his place is reserved........GUARANTEED!!!!!

Bonds has got to hit atlest 14 or 15 more homeruns regulary. But steroids are steriods. Bonds knows he Sol'ed himself doing that.

Barry Bonds is pretty much a given to get into the hall of fame, whether we all like it or not. But I don't think him hitting any amount of HR's he hits is going to restore any honor that he's lost.

Hey Keith, McGwire isn't anywhere near the player Bonds is.

hey keith...mcgwire is a piece of **** compared to bonds...bonds has more hr, better career average, better career on base percentage, 500 stolen bases, 9 gold gloves, and he isn't a one dimensional player like mcgwire...that's why he will get in and mcgwire will eat **** for the rest of his life

you will would desire to have been born with the genetics like Ryan Howard, Prince Fielder, A-Rod, or the old adult men Mays, Ruth, and Aaron cuz regrettably the days of juicing are going away. enormously humorous nevertheless with the "Juicer" nickname.

Currently, he needs only 17 more home runs to beat Hank Aaron's record.
