The Hitchhiker's Guide to the galaxy told me that nobody knows.
I believe that we are here for a reason (I am a devout Christian)
but are we for the sake of it? or have we got a purpose.
If we do, then why do so many people die every day?

There is no reason. Why does everything have to have a reason? It's a bit like asking why there are black holes, isn't it? There just are.

It's still remains a mystery to who we are or where we came from and what's our goal?
In many documentary programs, they too explain the same thing, some believes that in millions of years ago before or after dinosaurs vanished on earth, we existed from another world from intelligent beings and we're here to protect our world and to live on. And how come we humans are the only animal far more superior and intelligent than any beings on this planet? And if we don't exist here, Will the rest of the beings live on their own without us?
Long time,According to many religions, they pray gods for better living and many people followed this way and this became habituated and creates a better civilisation and knowledge...But after discovery with help of science and technology, we all came to know that gods don't exist, our forefathers did this all just for our betterment future sake and never interfere in beyond our imaginations.
That time we were like living in real fairy tales and fantasies. I was really surprised. They used to say many beautiful things about the moon but today in science, it's just a satellite and no life exists there. The science reveals everything.
I may not be a religious person but i show respect to my religion. My grandparents always says long time ago was a golden years and now is a rise of dark age.
I sometimes felt my grandparents are right we would have lived in old fashioned ways and no science and technology, only peace!
However lets do our best for what we are here for.

The way I look at the reason why we are this earth is the result of matter and electricity combining in such a way after billions of year of random mixing we have the ability to pose a question such as you. That is the reason why we are here. Can a single celled living organsim actually have awareness? or does it simple go about its exisitance ruled by simple procesesses. Find food, absorb food, once it has enough energy to divided into two. where is the sense in doing that what is the end goal for it. There isnt one its just the result of organic matter reacting too....

I would go on but I just remembered there are 2 rules to live your life by

Rule1: Dont tell everything you know

To understand the meaning of love.

A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.

After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.

Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.

I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.

I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.

If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.

I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.

Love and blessings

Your brother

Whilst a great question there is clearly no right or wrong answer to it.....!

We can all speculate - and we would all come up with different answers. But to me it is a freak of nature.....all the right things have happened at the right time to bring life to the Earth. Make the most of it....we are here but for a brief moment and then that's that....yes people can believe in an after life or resurrection....but I wouldn't be going and relying on that ahead of enjoying each moment that we have....

In addition to death......consider all the negative experiences and emotions that being alive thrusts apon us...even the happiest of human beings must suffer distress, grief, fear etc.....and for the mass majority of the World who live in dreadful poverty...merely trying to survive until tomorrow is all that they have to live for.....

Being a devout Christian must confuse you greatly when considering the plight of the human race. Therefore I would not dwell to long on this matter....

We all have a reason for being here. Maybe to better ourselves, maybe to do some good for others. Either way, it isn't random, I feel.

Why people die when we think it is before their time? Well, that is hard one to even grasp at. God knows, but He isn't telling. We just got to do our best with what we have, stop hating, keep loving, and try to do what we can to make the world a little better than it was yesterday.

But the more we wonder, the more questions we ask, the more likely we are to come up with some things that might help us cope with the lives we have.

There are some questions in this world which has no answers. This might fall in that category. It is the human arrogance which fuels the ego to think that every question has an answer. Things does exist which has no logical or scientific definition. They are just they are...

It may not be an exact answer for your question. But if perceived rightly, It may enhance the thinking ability and put us on aside to see things beyond the normal perceptions and that which cannot be just vocally explained but can only be felt... Hope you will find a suitable practice to feel the things beyond..

Were here cause the Boss willed it to be. As far as death & people dieing every day, how would you like to be stuck in your "constantly ageing body" 300 years from now? I mean you can bet that Anna Nicole Smith would not look like what she appeared to be in the playboy publication she modeled in if she had lived to be a hundred years old. Imagine that big bosomed beauty at 300 years old!!!!!! If we did not die we'd ALL eventually make a starved nazi death camp skeleton inmate look the perfect picture of health & vitality!!!!!!!! As far as "the purpose", there's much conjecture about the issue. I only know of one Guy that was murdered & came back to life, in the same body no less! Our purpose MIGHT have something to do with that particular event.

If a cat ask you the same question, why are we on this earth, you will say, oh god made you to be here just to be something living on this planet. I think it is the same reason why are we here today. We are just a creation who do their own bussiness on the earth and there is really no meaning in what we do. Only that we human think that we are so special and we are not part of the evolution and think that everything around us must have a meaning and we will be the savior of the universe.

The meaning of life....only God knows.
The purpose of life is to be "perfect as the father is perfect".

What does this really mean?

Another answerer shared his experience with you; this is the path to perfection; to learn, grow and experience and to share with others what you have learned. This is exactly what Christ taught, which is... the brotherhood of man.

Many things can be better understood if you think in 1000's of years at a time ( a 1000 yrs is as a day) and your short, but intense life on Earth is simply for the purpose of gaining experience that will prepare you for the future. Example: the many diverse races and cultures that you must come in contact with throughout life is to prepare you for a more diverse place in the future.

Death " only once for man to die" this means in my opinion that only once will we move on and not know where we are moving on to. As we experience to the full on the abode the lord has made for us, and its time once again to move on, we will not die, we will be prepared and transported with complete knowledge of where we are going next. God is in the heaven of heavens, that's plural. We have a long ways to go to get to Paradise. The heaven of heavens. And the brotherhood of man or the brotherhood of all God knowing creatures, great and small, is a universal law of love that will guide us to perfection throughout our journey

The future on Earth

I believe that we will learn to control our longevity to the point where some day like other places in the heavens we will be able to say "I have fully lived my life here on Earth and I am ready to move on" and if those in charge of transportation agree then you will be transformed like Elijah was and allowed to leave Earth without dieing. This can be the far distant future of Earth; imagine! Earth is young indeed.

We experience death because we are still young. The turmoil on Earth was never meant to be so harsh and our confusion has created experiences that is unique in the heavens, take heart we are deeply cared for by others much older than us and free will must not be jeopardized even if some must experience hardships beyond the pale.

We must expand our thinking.

Peace.........

We are here to meet the challenges that life gives us. Some jump all the hurdles while some fall at the first. It's how you cope that matters. Someone that doesn't cope well will become vengeful, bitter and unhappy, fall into corruption and corrupt others. Those that ride the tides of adversity will teach others by example and create a better world. God in its infinite wisdom will help and reward those that help themselves and stay true despite world condemnation, persecution and victimisation.
