No, although I think treason is still technically a hanging offence.(along with arson in a naval dockyard from memory).
We don't do that kind of thing. In fact the Queen would probably dust herself down and apologise and give them a tip.

An attempted assassination of the queen would be an act of treason. They would of course be subject to the full force of law and imprisoned. They would not be put to death as the death penalty has been abolished in the UK.
They might die while being prevented from killing her. This however would not be a legal execution, merely a circumstance provoked by their actions. A police officer deliberately shooting them dead without need would be considered guilty of murder or 'unlawful killing,' and there would be a prosecution of that officer.

Not anymore, the UK doesn't have the death penalty for anything. It was retained until 1998 for:
1. High Treason (assassinating the queen would be High Treason)
2. Causing a fire or explosion in a naval dockyard, magazine or warehouse
3. Piracy on the high seas

tried is the motivating word. So the assinator has not been successful. Lock him/her in the Tower of London and feed on best vegatables steak and jelly strawbery.
Or down in the dungeons.
I dont know the answer to this?

My guess is that the person would probably be sent to Broadmoor Hospital for life, or some other maximum security psychiatric hospital, just like the guy who tried to kidnap Princess Anne. (He pleaded guilty to attempted kidnapping and murder.)

I know the concept of a monarchy is somewhat out-dated, but we're not barbarians!
We don't (officially) condone killing people for breaking our laws.
In saying that, if someone felt strongly enough about killing the queen, I'm sure someone else would feel strongly about killing him/her.

I think it would be highly unlikely, although treason is the only charge which still carries the death penalty in this country as far as I'm aware.

They would probably be dead long before they came to trial. She is always surrounded by armed guards so any attempt would be dealt with swiftly & finally very quickly

Best bet would be not to try it! Security threats are taken very seriously these days.
