First we are a Republic, not a democracy state.
Second it is best that stupid and ill informed do not vote.
Third, I think people who are on welfare should not be allowed to vote, only hard working taxpayers.

The citizens of this country have a free choice not to register! The main question should be Why are'nt people registering? The answer is the candidates that we are choosing from have not shown us any changes to our society will be forthcoming. Look at Health Care, How many political candidates promise reform, especially in the senate. People are tired of being lied to at the polls so they decide not to choose, which is a blessed right that we have here in the USA!

I don't get your reasoning. No vote is a form of vote. Even in Congress, a member may vote: Yea, Nay, Present or Absent.
A Yea vote is for and issue, a Nay vote is against, a Present vote means the member was there and chose not to take a position and Absent means that for whatever reason, the member did not show up to vote.
The democratic process does not mean that anyone is forced to take a stand on issues. If they do not want to participate that is their vote.

No, of course not. Not voting is a form of voting. It says that "I'm okay with whoever wins." In other words, the 40% not voting said they were satisfied enough with Obama that they did not have to show up and didn't see any advantage, or fall off, if Romney won.

If people don't vote, that is their problem. They have the civic duty to vote, but also the right not to. This is democracy.

Because everyone has the free and equal right to participate in the government. The U.S. is actually a Republic.

When and if they ever give us some one worth voting for, then you may find that close to 75% of us would vote, but what choices have we had? not by my standards, I think not. when they give us someone worth voting for, do you really think that we would still win? heck no. its all a game to them. a money game. not a people, for the people game. its all wrong anymore. and what do we citizens do about it? what can we do? we are not them. and we don't vote for them. so we lose to th em anyways. so what do we have to lose? our freedom? they done did take that away from us already. check out the patriot act. then tell me this was done by the people for the people. .. not.
