There are different versions of the truth . ,and often a toned down version of the facts is a lot kinder than the cold hard facts .a bit of compassion never hurt anyone .
I think a lot of people who said the truth is important if constantly faced with the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth wouldn`t be able to take every cruel and nasty detail .

"Truth, like a blanket that always leaves your feet cold.
You push it, stretch it, it will never be enough
Kick it beat it, it will never cover any of us.
From the moment we enter crying, to the moment we leave dying,
it will just cover your face
as you wail and cry and scream."
-Dead Poets' Society
"Truth is not kind, and you say neither am I."
-Toad The Wet Sprocket
I want to know the truth, and it is always wise to want the truth.
It is not always nice, friendly, or enjoyable to know the truth, but pain is a fantastic educator. You will only be able to deal with problems if you know that they are there. If you don't get negative feedback, you can never improve. If you don't acknowledge the painful and sometimes horrible things that can and do happen, you'll never be able to get past them.
Growth is pain, and truth is necessary, if the growth is going to be in a helpful direction.

Sure the truth definitely matters. It is probably not always wise to want to know the truth. Some things are better left unsaid. I'm sure everyone always wants to know the truth but then again what you don't know won't hurt you.

The truth does matter yes, but i think sometimes some things are better kept to yourself, it depends on who you're going to hurt in the process of being completely honest.......i bet there are a lot of things i don't know, which i'm happy with, i don't always want to know the truth, people are happier when they don't know everything that's going on...

Truth does matter, but maybe it's not wise to always want to know the truth in case you can't deal with it. Alternatively, tho' it may hurt it may make your options much clearer.

The truth is essential, but whereas I always try to tell the truth and nothing but the truth I never tell the whole truth.

Truth matters to everyone. It is intrinsic of human nature that we seek the truth. There is only one true answer to everything. True, our intellect is flawed, but flawed as it is everyone wants to know the truth. No one wants to live and believe a lie.
There are some people who would deny what is accepted as true even though there is satisfactory proof. Such people are being unfair to themselves, and are dehumanizing.
As Human Beings we are bent on knowing the TRUTH.

Absolutely the truth matters. I can deal with the truth but I cannot deal with a lie. I believe the truth is something that can be dealt with and moved on from. If you lie to me about one thing, I tend to believe you will lie to me about anything. I cannot trust a lier. I believe once you lie you always will.
