I have had this same concern! TTC for 6 months now! I have had none stop periodlike cramps for the last week or so now. I am 10 to 11 DPO and still negative tests!
For some people though it could take up to a week past your period due date before you may get a positive. Therefore a negative may not be confirmed until you are beyond 1 week from your period due date. Ovualtion can occur just about anywhere in your cycle and leaves many possible days available for conception. Then, implantation may take its maximum amount of time to occur, say 14 to implant then you would have to give a few days for the hormone to appear strong enough in the urine for a positive test. Also depends on the amount of mIu's the test can detect. Wait approx. 1 more week or less before you can trust a negative on a test.

My doc told me that the pregnancy hormones cause symtpoms, and HPT's are 99% acurate on picking up on the hormones. So, if the test is negative, there aren't any pregnancy hormones in you and the symtoms you are experiencing are pre-menstrual ones. It's common for women to be late and have irregular cycles. There's a slight chace you could still be pregnant but 99% chance you're not if its a negative test. Wait a few days and try agian and make sure you test first thing in the morning.

Yes, it is possible that you are pregnant. Sometimes, your body just hasnt produced enough HCG to get a positive on the hpt. I know this is probably driving you crazy, so if I were you, I would go to the doc or the hospital, tell them what is going on, and have them take a blood test. That will detect any amount of the pregnancy hormone hcg. So even if you are, but its really low right now, they will be able to tell you. I can tell you from personal experience that sometimes, if you are really stressed out, that will or can delay your period and also being sick can. I would seriously go to the doc. Have them take blood and then you will have your ulitmate answer. Dont settle for just urine, as that obviously isnt working out, have them take blood. Good luck and much baby dust to you.

Missing your periods is not an indication of pregnancy. Further the symptoms experienced by you may be due to hormonal imbalance.
Confirm with a pregnancy test. Dont jump to conclusions

do not come to any conclusion by your own experiments.
go to a good pathology lab for +/- conformation.
