someone spilled a glass of cider on my carpet and never cleaned it properly.how do i get rid of the smell?

i've tried all sorts of detergents and nothing has worked.

Try carpet deodoriser.If not put one of those air fresh things u stick in the toilet,in the room with the smelly carpet.

I use Preen for carpets or I would have the room steam cleaned and deodorised, this will also get rid of any stain it left .
