does it matter if we are under the heliocentric or geocentric?

Well if the solar system was geocentric, then the sun would have to be less massive than the earth otherwise it would not orbit us. Which would make the sun extremely small and weak, and not provide enough light energy to fuel the earths plants and climate.

In short, its impossible and if it did happen, we wouldn't exist.

In terms of the relative motions, no. We can just as well describe everything in a geocentric way as a heliocentric one. However, when considerations other than what motion looks like are brought into play the geocentric view makes less and less sense. A heliocentric solar system fits all observations very nicely, and a lot better than a geocentric one does.

but we are the center of the universe.

I am sitting in an airport right now, typing away on my laptop. I am sitting at the very center of the universe

As are you, probably at home in front of your desktop.

As is the sun

As is the center of the milky way galaxy

As is a distant quasar, billions of light years away.

That's the interesting thing about the universe, it's expanding in all directions, like the surface of an expanding balloon. So every point in the universe is the center, as the universe is expanding away from every point in the universe.

Crazy, huh?

If we are geocentric then it makes space calculations unnecessarily complicated because it is a poor model for reality.

If we were the center of the Universe, the gravitational pool formed from the rest of the planets and stars orbiting us would crush the earth down to a micro black hole.
