!st you cannot put them in a small bowl if u bought like more than one, they cannot breathe because the oxygen contained in the water is not enough for the two of them
- if you have only 1 it's ok you just have to replace the water every 24 hrs; the water must not come directly from tap/faucet, you have to place the water in a container for up to 24 hrs, to allow the chlorine to disperse
- if u have an aquarium, you have to mix the water solution
( acdg to my sister)
- 1st buy an anti-chlorine solution, follow the directions
- next put 2 tbsp rock salt (depending on the size of your aquarium) into the water allowing it to dissolve
- next place the mix water solution and operate the filter
- after 15 mins, place the goldfish + the old water ( or half of it) into the aquarium ( so that the fish will get accustomed to it's new surrounding)
- feeding time - we usually drop flakes early in the morning
goldfish can last 2-3 days without eating, but don't overfeed them because they don't know when they're hungry
- after two weeks, change half of the water content of the aquarium with the mixture solution (anti-chlorine)
- after a month or so, clean the whole tank by removing the half first with the fishes and then the other half.
- don't use sponge that's been use in your plates, reserve a sponge and a bucket for the fish purpose only as using different sponge may bring contaminants to the fishes,
- clean the aquarium by scrubbing w/ water no detergents
- use the mix-solution, repeat 1st step then place the goldfish back without the old water

- remember don't put the fishes near sunlight as this affects their coloring, losing their luster

goodluck :)

Goldfish can tolerate the temperature as high as 40 degrees. So do not bother about the climate in India. Give your goldfish feeds twice in a day, at a time the amount of feed should be such that your fish can consume the whole lot in five minutes. Keep your aquarium in well ventilated place, where direct sunlight should not fall on aquarium. As it allows the algae to grow.
Too much of algae is not good for fish. Keep an under gravel filter in aquarium. Change the water 10-20% once in 10-15 days.Every time you change the water, add Methylene blue 1%, 10-15 drops to every 20 ltrs of water.

you will need:

1 aquarium at least 5 gallons AKA 20Liters.( or a strong, transparent, clean container.
filter
gravel
net
fish food
de chlorinater aka water ager.
clean, new bucket or container. at lest 1 gallon aka 4 liters
optionals;
siphon
algae scraper
plants live or plastic.
buy these at a pet shop.

wash tank well.
put water in. carefully measuer and drop some water ager in. (normaly a ml to 5 gallons)
stir with clean hands.
carefully scrub the pebbles for at least 5 min.spread them out on the bottom of the tank.wash filter for 2 min.do it well.
put it in the corner of the tank. turn it on.
put in plants.
float the bag holding your fish,in the tank 4 20 min.
wash your net and scoop the fish out and into the tank. turn filter on.

do not feed within the next 5 hours. they will be stressed.
place the tank out of sunlight.
you will need to have 20% water cchanges every 10 days or so.all water changes should be de chlorinated first.if you have a bubbler, you can cut down the water changes by 2-5 days.
if you have live plants that getsome light,(at least 2 h a day)
you delay thewater change by a day for every 2 plants. do water .c with a siphon or a cup.
feed as much as the goldies can eat once or twice a day. some times you can starve(max 2 a month)them or eed a mosquito to them. it is good 4 thier health. do full water changes once a year. if you see lot a poo, net them out or feed them less.
if the water is over 25degrees celsius or abot 80f,(guess) get some ice cubes, put them in a plastic bag,(clean)and leave it in there until it melts. 10 ice cubes will eat aproxx.6degrees c. or f. depending on the size of ur tank.

temperature should be between 18 and 22 degrees celcius.
higher is also ok but dont let the temperature rise too quickly , no mare than 2 degrees per day.

bowls are not ok for goldfish because with a bowl there can not come enough oxygene in the water, use a box instead

all water should pass once per hour a filter to clean the water.

no direct sunlight as this warms the water too quickly.

Well feed them of course, then get a good size tank with a pump and all, thermometer to I guess and keep then in a well ventilated area in your house not too hot, or cold places like that... or wherever. And watch the temperature. I guess, I don’t really like fish [scary] but I hope I helped a little at least

Do you have an aquarium? Or do you have a tank for the fish? When you put the goldfish in the water, you have to make sure that the water is clean....They will die otherwise.

I'll second putting them in water.

BTW, goldfish more than any other fish like cool water. IOW, you never buy a heater for a goldfish bowl.

And yeah, they will keep eating until all the food is gone, even it it kills them.

i dont really know much but make sure the water is cold. get a big aquarium or the fish might get really bored swimming in 1 place and they might die. look at how much space your food takes then look at the body of the fish and try to find out how much food they are going to need.

You bought them yesterday and you're just now wondering? They're probably gonna die soon. There's alot to taking care of fish that people don't realize. For one, you should already have your tank set up with water inside that's been properly cycled. Check this link out for tips.

Feed them as directed and be sure to keep their bowl/aquarium ariated and clean. An air pump should help with the latter.
