This is a HP Pavillon dv9000t series laptop. It has a 17" screen and is quite nice to work on. It also has a fullsize keyboard and a Light Scribe capable CD/DVD and a couple of other neat features built in. BUT it is quite large and weights in around 7 lbs (10 lbs in travel case) which gets heavy. I use it to go to coffee but usually not on long trips. Overall: satisfied and I am finding that I like it better than a desktop for it portability, large screen and other features, plus I can put it away because the space I have is small and I must use it for other things. I have considered installing Vista but haven't yet as XP works well. And if something works well, don't mess with it unless there is compelling advantage.

I am using a desktop right now - I quite like the idea of laptops, though.

Desktop is what I'm using, and I don't like laptops. If I had a laptop I would bring the thing every where, and I think my boyfriend would get sick of that... lol
No, desktop is much better.

I'm using my desktop. I had a laptop once. I actually used it in my lap for 3 years. Now I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that I have ovarian cysts....
