First Month:

-Felt slighty sick towards end of the month
-headache towards end of the month
-Slightly emotional
-Breakthrough bleeding for 3days.
Third month (i've only taken two placebo's)
-Extremely tired
-Felt extremely sick (mainly mornings and night)
-Very headachey
-slight tempreture

Overall, i am very hormonal, occording to my boyfriend, and i have because very distant to some foods.
I'm only taking the pill for acne.
Think they will change me to a different kind of pill? or..
And if anyone has had these symptoms, did they get better?
Thanks.

I had these problems with my pill, so he put me on a pill with lower oestrogen content, it helped for a little while but then the symptoms came back. At the moment I'm just using condoms until I can think of an alternative

Honey, I'm very sorry to hear how awful it has been making you feel. By all means, SWITCH! Don't wait any longer. Personally I am on Dianette now and have been on it for the past year. I like it, but I've tried several different birth control brands since I was 17 yrs. old. One kind gave me brown spots on my hands, which went away after I stopped. Others made me gain weight and some didn't, and others gave me mood swings. Different brands may affect you differently, depending on the different levels of hormones.

Just because Dianette isn't compatible with your body, doesn't mean the pill isn't right for you. Try a different one that is not similar in make up to Dianette.

As a side note - I tried different pill brands also for my acne. Nothing worked. I finally went on Accutane. It's a miracle drug, but that is another discussion and a personal decision.

Definitely pls let your dr know what is going on. Also ask about getting tested for hormone imbalances such as with the thyroid to see if this could be playing in to what you and your boyfriend are noticing.

I hope you can find a better option for your acne hun. Something that I did for mine is that I started to take prenatal vitamins although I've never been pregnant before. I double checked with my dr to make sure it was safe for me to do and she said it was. I buy mine over the counter at Wal-Mart. Based on the medication you are on it tells me that you are somewhere in Europe and I don't know if they sell prenatals over the counter like they can do with some of them here in the U.S. If you are interested in trying this check with your dr to be on the safe side.

In the mean time for the mood you could try B6 either by itself or as part of a bottle of B Complex. This you can probably find over the counter as well til you get in touch with your dr.

I experienced some mood issues with a birth control pill once as well. It was with the U.S. equivalent to the one you are taking. I felt like crying for 3 days straight and I had no specific reason for why I wanted to, just did. I had some other problems adjusting to the medication during the first week and then later had problems with breakthrough bleeding. After having tried it for 6 months in 2006 I decided that I would never take it again.

There are plenty of alternatives to treat acne. There are medications designed specifically for that.
