..running, rifle in hand , across Virginia Tech campus. Most of the other cops were fat. The grieving students were also overweight. A nation of gluttons, eating themselves into an early grave. An every day acceptable aspect of American madness.

Was it any wonder Seung-Hui felt the way he did?

well its very simple and he sooner people realize in american and other countries with theses problems the better, eat less, eat healthy, dont eat so much fast food, cook better meals, bring your children up to appreciate healthy foods instead of taking them to mcdonalds, and for god sake exercise. i think there needs to be a complete revamp in how people cook theyre food and people need to have more knowledge if cooking and of foods, bring back eating times instead of eating when you can, and realize this is a problem so fix it, and its not just america there is increasing weight problems all over the world. I think this trends has to be broken by parents they need to teach theyre children the value of good food, then throught time they will teach theyre kids the same and it will catch on, as for Seung hui this was a depreesed strange young individual who cried for attention and help and didnt recieve it, this has nothing to do with people being over weight, and as for the other peoples comments, yes the cop did risk his life for the good of others but still woldnt he be much better more agile and faster at his job if he was more healthy?

Look at it this way, if as you say Americans are gluttons eating themselves into an early grave the faster the world will be rid of them. That is what the world wants right, RIGHT! Then they will have to whine on each other for a while and not fat Americans.

First of all, let's not try to justify the thoughts and feelings of a mass murderer. Second, my understanding is that this creature had a problem with the rich. It's a proven fact that wealthy Americans are in the best shape, while the poorest are the most obese. Kinda blows a big hole in your reasoning.
I do agree that the obesity pandemic is a tragedy, but the tragedy is no longer uniquely American. It's rapidly spreading to the rest of the world. Keep eating those Big Macs, everyone. Have a Coke and a smile.
What really disturbs me is why you didn't notice this long time problem until you watched a video of a murder scene. I know the first thought that goes through my mind when innocent people die is not, "my God, they're fat!"

Maybe we should be equally concerned about mental health.

Do you really think that this is pertinent information. Just be glad that there are first, second and third responders in our society, cause we so sorely need them, no matter what there size. Sometimes it is not the size, but the degree of fitness someone has that can make the difference as to whether they are competent or not....but agreeably, obesity is a issue we cannot overlook in this country.

I've noticed that too when I saw the news coverage. I couldn't believe all those cops were so fat. Maybe in Virginia, there's not much going on and all day the cops just hang out at the donut shop. They should be lucky, the first real action they've seen in years.

i dont really think he did what he did because americans are obese.
i do not deny the obesity that is going on where i live, i can only do whats right for me and not be that way. I was taught to cook and eat well very early on. i can only do my best to teach my future children those same things.
some people are just brought up to be lazy! im not talking about couch potato lazy either. im talking about to lazy to make a balanced meal, would rather pay 99cents for it at mc donalds. its very sad to see the children, but what can you do?
yell at the parents??

I read an incredible statistic today: that this will be the first generation of Americans to have a shorter life expectancy than their parents. All because of obesity!

The "fat" policeman who ran, rifle in hand, across V-tech campus in hopes of saving lives and stopping the madness? That fat cop is the one you speak of? So, you are insulting a man who risked his life to save others? Way to go loser! Why not, instead of calling him fat, give a shout out of thanks to him, for not only risking his life in this situation, but for risking his life everyday for people like you and I, people he apparently shouldn't give 2 sh*ts about!
