I'm not going because I will be busy becoming a Dad. But then thats a pretty specific reason. As for the guitar bands rubbish. I've been a Glasto regular for a long time and it's the variety that always impresses me. This whole "it should just be indy bands" thing is stupid. It never was just that. If that was the case you would not have the theatre tents, dance and electronic arenas, Lost Vagueness. (ah, but they aren't there this year, hmmm, now that could be a big factor, LV is always very popular) and much of the rest of the festy. Pull your head out of your bum, there's more to glasto than just the pyramid. I think the real reasons are more to do with the absolute awfulness of the weather and facilities for the last 2 festivals and also the rise of the boutique festival. People don't want a sprawling corporate mess. They want that intimate festy community feel that there used to be and lets face it, there's a lot more choice out there this year. To be honest I think the main factor is that glasto is feeling the bite of competition. Noel is only annoyed because he hasn't been asked and his band have gone down the toilet. Also, you seem to have a very stereotypical view of Hip Hop and Rap. Try listening to some of the decent stuff instead of the chart crap. Everyone can slag chart crap, you have to look to find the gems. Oh, and the weather isn't always bad. the 3 glasto's before these last 2 were glorious and bathed in sunshine.

They sold out in a few hours. You had to register on-line with a photo a month before they went on sale to qualify for getting one and even then less than 5% of all the people who registered for a ticket actually got one.

No, the deadline was the beginning of April.
Also, this year, applicants had to send a passport style photo which will be reproduced on the ticket.
This is to stop them being sold on Ebay at inflated prices.
If a ticket can't be used, it has to be returned and the next person on the waiting list will be allocated a ticket.
There is a huge waiting list.
