I would go to the docters and mention this to him , a pregnant woman needs to keep hydrated. Try bottled water if you are just drinking tap water, just enough apple juice to change the flavor is fine.

I had the same problem when I lived in a place that I noticed the water tasted funny...so, I called the city to come & take a sample of the water...and sure enough, the water was contaminated with rust..so I even installed a purifier for the sink & that didn't even work!! So, I had to start buying bottled water. And, I had to take a bath in that water! {rusted-pipe-water} I wasn't pregnant though. But the water still made me sick.

No, you need water, in whatever form you can get it, staying away from coffee and black tea because these are diuretics (make you pee the water before it can be used by your body). Even foods with high water content qualify!! (soups, watermelon, cucumber, many fruits...)

The reply would depend on what you mean by sick. Is it the taste that you find revolting, and make you throw up? or do you think it is upsetting your stomach?

In the second case, you should mention it to your doctor...

In both cases, I would suggest you make big thermos of herbal teas (you can experiment, there are lots of different ones!!!) to drink through the day. I also like to make jars of green tea with a couple of bags of mint tossed in, it makes a minty drink that chilled is very good on a hot day. You can add sweetener or sugar in it if you like...

Also, yu can drink half juice, half water. The problem with juices and drinks is usually the high sugar content, so if you want to avoid it just go for herbal teas and diluted drinks.

my daughter has the same problem and we had to take her to the hospital about a week ago. They put her straight onto an IV drip as she also had low blood suger from not keeping any food down and ketosis in her urine. My daughter found grapes were probably the best thing for her, and lemonade iceblocks. We tried gastrolye ice blocks but the taste made her sick. Plain ice was also good.....goodluck

The body gets water out of most fluids - try a glass of pear juice daily for constipation

Is it tap water or bottled water? If you're drinking tap water, maybe there's a purifier in it that's upsetting your stomach, so try bottled. If it's bottled water, try switching brands. I would consult your doctor though, just to be safe. You definately don't want to dehydrate while you're pregnant. Good luck.

Watered down apple juice should be fine, especially as apples are a natural and gentle laxative as well. It is important to keep up the volume of fluid, and even more so if you are throwing up.

If you're drinking tap water this makes perfect sense. The "crap" in the tap water will upset your easily upsetable stomach. Try filtered or bottled. I can't even stand the smell of tap water. Besides, there is stuff in tap water that is not good for baby.

My sister-in-law had the same problem. She switched to the carbonated kind (Perrier for her) and that worked till she was able to go back to the regular kind. If that doesn't help, CALL your doctor before you pay for an office visit. He or she might be able to suggest something over the phone.
And yes, you're in the right section.
