Ok I've been offered 2 summer jobs.
1st Nannying pays $7.15 an hour, 7 hours a day 4 days a week.
Pro- I've done it before for this kid, and its' easy, also tax free.
Con- As it's not a technical job it doesn't count towards experience.
If I took this I'd take up a second job in a craft store paying roughly $8 an hour for 20 hours on weekends. This job could carry on past the Summer which I need.

2nd Lobby Secretary 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, starting pay $11.50.
Pro- More money, and it counts as experience.
Con- Taxed, and it only lasts possibly 3 months.

I'm leaning towards the first for the reason that I really want something constant and even though the nannying isn't past the summer the craft store will be, and I can become full time when the nannying is over.

However the 1st is office experience, which I have, and would like more of, plus the job is a given and I've been looking forward to it.

take a day or a few and mediate or pray and see how it falls for you. The more important it is to you the longer you should clear your mind and relax your soul to make a decision.

Your goal shouldn't be material but rather help or charity and everything will fall in place nicely.

I think you have an answer for yourself already. I would suggest first job as it pays you more ie you could nanny and also take on a second job. Though this is only summer job but my advise is to work on something that you are happy wit. If not, no matter how much you are making, you won't have a happy working time. You should look forward to work that you like. Follow your heart.

the legal job is better for now.
You need to build office experience in your resume. Even though its for a short amount of time, your experience will help you get something else.

It's not hard to get a nanny job- you just have to be good with kids. 2nd if the family likes you, ask them for a recommendation and till them you are open to babysitting time and time if you do the legal secretary job.

now look, you now have an option to have 2 jobs this summer with the fist one paying more!

The secretary job sounds real good but can you talk them in to taking you on full time. If not take the summer job and work at the craft job I know you don't want to deal with taxes but some times we have to.

Take the Lobby Secretary job. It's a professional atmosphere and you will gain experience in customer service, admin and receptionist. Take the professional job.

You will not always look forward to your job, especially when you're young. Right now you just have to rub your nose in the shi* and see what it looks like after you rub it clean!

Take the "real job" - GOOD LUCK

legally, if you make over a certain amount of money as a nanny, you do have to pay taxes, but whatever lets you sleep at night...go for the legal tax-paying job.

I'd go with the first one. Isn't it really the best of both worlds for you?
