Alcohol is an evil drug and to be okay with it's use is anti-Christian. Think about how many people die each year because of it in car crashes and because of health problems and because alcohol affects people's judgments, thus making them more likely to commit a crime.

Alcohol is almost as strong as marijuana, so don't you think it should be illegal too? Your body is sacred because it was made by God and he doesn't want you to intefer with it.

Marijuana and alcohol only lead to destruction. Marijuana kills and so does alcohol, so the Christian thing to do is to protect the children and make alcohol illegal to everyone. It WILL save lives. Just think of the car crashes alone.

Do you agree?

If not, then you are willing to sacrifice people's lives in car crashes for personal freedom. How nice of you.

This is not a religious debate and Jesus drank, so please leave fairy tales out of it. I do drink socially, but I do agree that alcohol is one of the most destructive drugs on the planet. If it was illegal, I wouldn't care and perhaps kind of like the fact that it is. Marijuana, is not as harmful as alcohol and I'm not a marijuana smoker. If alcohol is legal, then marijuana should be to. I actually think everything should be legal and people should make up their own minds. It's funny I came across because I'm seriously thinking about ceasing all alcohol consumption. This is not a "God" issue, it is a social issue. If you make it illegal, all you will do is increase organized crime activity. I'm not sure there is a clear answer for this one...I can tell you this, if it was illegal, I don't think I'd miss it.

Unfortunately bob, there are certain things that i can't agree with you on. However there are many things i do agree with; let me explain. Alcohol should be illegal for all the reasons that you have mentioned. But if you would do your research you would know that it used to be illegal. And marijuana was legal; until 1932 when the government decided to tax marijuana. This is when the nation went crazy with illegal "moonshine" stills. The law was passed in 1934 that made marijuana illegal, and it wasn't due to it having harmful effects. It was caused by such a high demand that the government could'nt possibly keep up with the taxing of the trade. Alcohol then became legal. And just a note: no one has ever died from marijuana use-fact not fiction

Ever hear of Al Capone? Last time Alcohol was made illegal, gangsters became ridiculously powerful. Why dont you brush up on some history. The gangsters selling illegal alcohol will be 100x more powerful and violent than a few potheads selling illegal weed. We would create a million more problems than we would solve.

Your facts are wrong. Alcohol is far deadlier than Marijuana. 0 people have overdosed on Marijuana, thousands die of alcohol poison. Alcohol is far stronger than Marijuana. Alcohol can give you alcoholism, serosis of the liver, heart disease, dehydration, and several other long term illnesses. Marijuana only affects short term memory, and lung damage IF smoked, you can vaporize it and eat it if you wish. Hemp, the non psycodelic version, can be made into paper, shirts, fuel, rope, and many other products. Yet it's illegal. It could replaced millions of acres of trees used to make paper. And it always grows back, because it's a weed.

Anyways, about alcohol. Do you remember prohibition? Crime rose over 50% because of bootleggers. It wasn't worth it, many people died because of that. Do you want that to happen again? No one will listen to that law, just like the war on pot. Free will will prevail, some people out there are responsible.

Driving drunk is already illegal. People who drive drunk belong in jail. If someone commits a crime because they were drunk, they should be punished for the crime. But there is no reason to ban alcohol.

If someone wants to destroy their body by drinking too much, that is their right. If your think that God has a problem with it, let God judge that person.

But as I told someone else, we are a secular democracy and not a Christian nation. Stop trying to control everyone else. That is what is evil and destroying our country. I drink very little now, but if I want to get drunk every once in awhile, what business is it of yours. I don't drive drunk, and I don't commit any crimes while drunk, in fact, I'm usually nicer when I'm drunk.

By the way, far more people are killed from smoking than alcohol. And there is no "secondhand drinking". If you want to do something to benefit society, try working on getting laws passed to ban smoking in public (including outdoors). Look at all the kids that live in homes or ride in cars where their parents are smoking. That is child abuse. Do something about that. But don't tell other people how to live their lives unless they are specifically harming others. You have no right.

Sorry but we already tried that from 1920 to1933 in the U.S. and all we got was to make ultra rich and powerful the illegal alcohol dealers.

The illegal black market of alcohol was over $500 millions a year, and $500 millions in the 20's was a lot of money. And many people were killed by the mafia that wanted to keep that industry.

Have you forgotten the history in the US? If we banned alcohol, then there will be bootleggers smuggling alcohol from a country that is legal. With the experience in the US during the 1920s, alcohol is legal due to the 21 amendment which is a repeal to the 18th amendment.

Jesus turned water into wine and the people said it was the best wine they had ever had. So your denominations teaching about the evil of drinking is incorrect.

What the Bible does say is not to live a drunken uncontrolled lifestyle.

Just becasue someone drinks does not mean he drinks and drives. You can be a responsible driver.

Some people drive when they are too tired because they worked too much during the week and didn't get enough rest. According to your logic work should be outlawed.

Ever hear of the 18th Amendment? Yeah...it didn't work out so well. And and just so you know the War on Drugs isn't very successful either. Even though marijuana and other drugs are illegal, they are very easy to get and laws forbidding their use are pretty much useless.
