read it out loud 3 times, and then copy the whole poem onto a separate piece of paper. works for me. you gotta be concentrating though

Rote method. Memorize the first line - go over and over it until you have it down pat. Then add the second line. Go over the first two over and over until you are sure of them. Add one line at a time - each time going back over the whole thing. That works very well.

A little secret my son uses - he memorizes things in rap cadence. His mind seems to work better that way. You might try turning it into a rap song and memorizing it.

Good luck - just plan on spending a lot of tomorrow on it. Take your time and you will have no trouble. Pax - C.

Its not that hard, first read the whole poem like two times so that you get its whole flow, then start with the first line, repeat it several times then the 2nd.Now repeat both line 1 & 2 and move to the 3rd till you are done.
Once you are done repeat the whole of it untill you sing it like a song

take it in chunks
memorize each stanza separately
then piece it together
as you are reciting the poem, visualize something that each stanza brings to your mind
make connections with items in the poem to your own life
read it silently, read it aloud, put it to the side and say it, repeat these steps til you can stand in front of a mirror and say it without having to look

good luck!!!

Repeat each line seven times and then add the next to it...so on and so forth. I pace around the room when I'm memorizing things...maybe that's what helps?

WRITE DOWN EACH LINE AT LEAST TWENTY TIMES, COVERING THE LAST LINE AS YOU WRITE. IT HELPS ME A LOT.
