hi,
basically it helps most people to satisfy their innate desire to help another living being make their life better i myself was helped by many answerers of this site also since we do not know who the questioners are ,the question is answered without using any bias this helps in situations where ur own frds and family prefer to give sidy answers or keep mum 4 many reasons.In my case many of these members have helped me to take a major decsion of my life i am much happy now bcoz of them many many thanks to all these members i wud prefer this addiction comparing to drugs r tv watching

Sadly, sometimes it's because they have nothing else to do. And here, at least, they know they have friends who will listen. Some may pick on others, but it's better than sitting alone and having no one. So in a way, it's a blessing, and feeling appreciated for whatever contribution you make. Who cares if you get best answer? At least somebody listened to and considered what you had to say. I think that means more to people, just knowing somebody cared, and to hell with the points. I mean, if they took a poll, as to how many suicides have been prevented simply because there were people on this site that listened??? Yeah, I know, there are also many idiots. But for the most part, many of the people are genuine and caring. Enough said. And what shwetha said is also true.

it gives me something to do to help relax....if you don't like my answers ok....but it doesn't matter if there right or wrong. ever since going back to school i like that i don't have to have the right answer....and as for the time i don't realize it goes by so quickly....thanks for the question^_^!

it kills time. it gets my mind off my own problems, etc. and some of the questions i encounter give me a much needed laugh...
