i have a tortoise she is eating well and is very alert but just lately she keep rubbing her self in a grinding motion as if she has a iitch any body have any idea's

Not sure what kind of tortoise you have, but just like anybody else, tortoises like a good scratch now and then. Not uncommon to see them rubbing their shells under a bush or other obstacle. Just watched one of mine doing that yesterday.

I have one too and he gets in the corner and does that. They are actually trying to dig! My Aquarium has sand and they ususally like to hybernate under the ground to avoid the light.

stop giving it itch powder. No she might have a rash take it to the vet.

Maybe she is trying to remove the dead skin.
