Gee...Iraq has been a self-governing country until the US invasion in 2003.
The invasion ignited a mini-civil war in Iraq that the US is struggling to baby-sit. Why do people think the US is holding the sky from falling on Iraq?!...

Yes, in time .it is only a few years in to war .some wars lasted ,anything from 10 years to 100 years.
I know my country is at war since 1963 .not so much killing after 1974 .but still at war. the country is in state of ceasefire ..so yes Iraq will have democracy and self governing body ..

The radicals in Iraq would prefer to kill all their own people than allow a peaceful, self-governing Iraq to exist. This is Islamic extremism at it's best.

Nearly all humans on earth are self governing except for Iraqis and Palestinians. hmmmmmmmmmm
Could they govern themselves? Of course. They're no different than anybody else.

Eventualy but with the way things are looking now they may pull us out before the job is done which will be not so great for Iraq

If you can't believe you can't make it happen. The way I look at it, there are more people who want justice than there are murderers. Hopefully the good people of Iraq will prevail.

No, but it is not up to us, nor was it ever up to us, to insure that it became a self-governing country!

After they slaughter each other and a few hundred thousand more people are killed, they will eventually get a radical fundamentalist Islamic totalitarian dictatorship. So yes, they will eventually govern themselves - or one person will govern them - just like before, but worse.
