I've been taking Lisinopril 10mg for about 15 months. My blood pressure is generally in the 116/73 range with a pulse of 56? My pulse rate everytime I test is or has never been more than 61. I'm concerned about this as I am a smoker and to my knowledge smoking will increase heart rate. So if I were to quit.........? My doctor doesn't seem to be concerned, just looking for a 2nd opinion or input from someone who is qualified and not every wanna be doctor telling me that smoking is bad and will kill me.

Basically, in a professional opinon could my dosage be to high? I take 1 pill per day at about the same time everyday.

Your blood pressure is great. And so is your pulse.

Stop smoking........you know all of the reasons.

you have good blood pressure and a good pulse. obviously you should quit smoking not gonna go into detail as to why cuz i think you know. but a lot of the time if you quit smoking, you will be able to quit the bp drugs too if your bp is not too high without the drug. i'm not too familiar with lisinopril and how it works but in general a lot of people who take blood pressure drugs and smoke, can quit the drug after they quit smoking.
