You can bath them, when I show mine they get bathed a few days before in a puppy and kitten shampoo. Only bathe them when you really feel its important, I wouldn't do it every week because that takes the natural oils from their coat and skin and you really don't want to do that all the time. On average my show pigs get a bath once each month, my breeders maybe four times a year.

I have owned Guinea Pigs for many years and I have never given any of them a bath. They are extremely clean little animals and do not need it. Also they can be very susceptible to getting a chill when they are damp so not a good idea. Mine are free range in the garden and never seem to get dirty. They get a clean bed every other day and a clean house once a week.

I owned a guinea pig for 6 yrs, and never bathed him. Never had a reason to. The G.pig didn't stink, his fur was sleek & shiny.
I do not see a reason to bathe a guinea pig unless necessary, and no more often than every other week (preferably once a month).
I bathe my rats, when I clean their cage.

You don't NEED to EVER bath your guinea pig. You will have to if you suspect lice though, or obviously, if the pig is dirty. Bathing too much is bad for their skin as it dries it out. I would say bath no more than every 2 months.

i bathed mine every two months - it keeps them smelling nice and helps to keep mites away - you can use a baby shampoo
some people dont like to - but as long as you dont do it excessively it wont harm your guinea pig at all - just look up peter guerney hes an expert on them and he'll tell you the same

Only bathe them when it is nessary to do so. They don't like it (believe me, I have an impossible guinea pig). But you can get a wet paper towel and wipe it over them, it fels good to them and keeps them calm. If they are really dirty, give them a bath with warm water.

They dont need bathed at all unless their fur becomes dirty. This is more common in long haired guinea pigs.
They normally clean themselves.
