I am very liberal and have a number of right wing friends who are like this. We debate politics occasionally, but sometimes it isn't easy and we just avoid it. Some people get mad when I tell them that their hero Bush is really a traitor, criminal, and psychopathic mass murderer who not only should be impeached, but at a minimum should get life without parole. Just remember that this guy is probably a nice guy - he is not evil, just misguided.
I think it was easier when we just debated philosophy over whose ideas were better. This stuff can't even be debated. It is a clear fact that our country is being run by criminals and traitors, but these Republicans refuse to get their facts from anyone other than Fox "News" and drug addict Rush Limp-baugh. So I'm at the point where I don't even want to discuss it myself. I'm just hoping that these criminals can be put on trial on national TV for everyone to see them exposed for who they really are.

I put up with this everyday on Y!A and in 360. There are several neocons that I actually kind of like, but I strongly disagree with their political opinions. I just say the hell with it ! I give them a few compliments and then start bashing them. It's really a compromise. Sure they get their feelings hurt, and some take it too personally. However, it's the way I truly feel. I like to think of it as "tough love".

I debate politics with con friends all the time. I'm sure that I make my arguments in a civil manner. Instead of stating Bush is a total idiot I'll something like he sure makes me miss Reagan. I've never had a loud confrontation with a con who I consider a friend. That's not the case with ones I don't like.

no. I worked with this young felllow and after a while he stated "you are very tolerant, aren't you?" as a stab to generalize against me, like being tolerant was bad. I just never delved into it with him because his 5 AM, daily Bible study was more than I could compete with...But I was probably even tolerant with him...most intelligent people will have a position that moves slightly as they age and most intellligent people with any sense of fair play will soften their position

Does not matter.
It is his time to solve the mess out there for the good of mankind in planet of apes.
Try and ask our creator on why he must be around to do it in planet of apes.
Even though we don't like him in planet of apes.
What can we do in planet of apes?

just let it go. Sometimes the truth is a weapon of destruction instead of liberation.
